Features

Design complex experimental scenes choosing from text, questionnaires, images, videos, PDFs, or dynamic websites and merge several elements with the Composite Editor. Control the experiment flow by assigning tasks to selected participants, by using randomization options and Trigger AOIs. Specify factors for precise analysis with Stimulus Conditions.

Collect eye and gaze data with SMI’s wide range of eye tracking devices and choose from customizable calibration and validation routines for optimal accuracy. Observe the experiment and annotate behavior in real time with the Annotation feature. Synchronize with biometric sensors, e.g. by sending TTL triggers and software messages.

SMI BeGaze, the analysis component of SMI Experiment Suite Scientific, provides a comprehensive spectrum of smart functions for analysis and visualization of the data collected in SMI Experiment Center, or in other popular stimulus software via SDK.

Review and visualize data
For instance, results are visualized by Scan Paths or Heat Maps and can be exported as a video or an image for documentation and presentations.
Static Areas of Interest (AOIs) and Dynamic AOIs for video stimuli let you generate aggregated statistics and visualizations for multiple participants over the entire recording.
AOIs can be automatically generated for text elements (character, word, sentence, paragraph).

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) provide both quantitative and qualitative information on visual behavior and impact for each AOI.

Compare looking behavior
Using the Proportion of Looks analysis you can aggregate and compare hits on Areas of Interest across stimuli, participants, and AOIs by flexibly selecting parameters and by building up comparisons step-by-step.
AOI Sequence Chart shows the temporal order at which AOIs were hit by a participant. Gridded AOIs allow for visualization of statistic parameters and provide quick access to scan path comparisons.

Derive comprehensive statistics and export data
SMI’s powerful statistics allows configuration and export of statistical data tables of more than 100 statistical variables. All metrics can be exported to file with just one click and later analyzed in R, SPSS or any other statistics program.
