Features

The SMI optical head and motion tracking module for the ETG2w enhances SMI’s mobile eye tracking technology with real-time streaming of 6D gaze vectors in headtracker coordinates.

The module includes a set of retroreflective markers by Advanced Realtime Tracking GmbH (A.R.T.) that are attached to a magnetic snap-on frame for the seamless integration with the ETG to measure the position and orientation of the wearer´s head within a defined space.

The result: 6D gaze vectors on objects are calculated automatically and virtual content can be presented in real-time dependent on the gaze interaction of the user with the environment.

Virtual-Reality Peripheral Network (VRPN) is a unified interface to input devices in virtual reality applications. Via the VRPN interface standard, the ETG Gaze and Motion package supports leading head and motion tracking technologies such as A.R.T., Microsoft Kinect, OptiTrackt, Qualisys, Vicon, or WorldViz.
