Features

The Dewesoft automotive and machine measurement platform captures and synchronizes a wide range of vehicle control data via a CAN bus/OBD interface. Users may add a wide range of additional sensors, such as observation cameras and GPS, to acquire vehicle dynamics as well as ambient data.

As a turnkey integration of SMI Eye Tracking and Dewesoft measurement, this technology aggregates all dynamic vehicle parameters in movement, the reaction of the ADAS sensors, as well as the driver’s reaction to ambient events. Dewesoft technology also calculates object-to-object relations in multiple car scenarios. SMI gaze videos help to analyze the correlation of the driver’s attention with machine-related events, such as braking or accelerating. Annotations, e.g. based on the machine data, can be used to mark time-related points of interest for in-depth analysis of eye tracking data in SMI BeGaze software.

With SMI BeGaze, multiple participants’ gaze data can be aggregated on target areas to measure attention or off-road glances. The specific module for “off-road glance duration analysis” is compliant with “NHTSA Driver Distraction Guidelines for in-Vehicle Electronic Devices” testing. With the ICA module, cognitive workload calculations based on eye-and-gaze raw data are added to driver-state assessments.
