SMI's Controlled Custom Cornea (CCC) system provides a static alignment of the eye position between different devices and different sessions. This corrects decentration in the x and y axes due to pupil center shift between large and small pupil sizes. It also compensates for different alignment axes used during diagnosis and surgery, as well as torsion errors when the eye rotates as the head changes position between sitting and lying.
CCC provides an easy to use and reliable solution for objective static alignment for laser refractive surgery, toric IOL implantation and other sophisticated diagnostics and treatment of the eye.
SMI has established multiple CCC links between ophthalmologic devices, such as topometer to refractive laser, aberrometer to refractive laser, and aberrometer to aberrometer, with rotational accuracy down to 1° and translational accuracy down to 50 µm.
The technology is available for all systems currently on the market.
