Instantaneous & objective
SMI's Trainee and Operator Performance Analyzer (TOPAZ) is a head-mounted, specialized eye tracking system that allows instructors to "see through the eyes of the trainee". The system closes the link between the visual feedback available to the trainee and the visual information actually viewed, providing instant feedback for fast and objective assessment.
Video & audio
TOPAZ records gaze position, up to four video signals, audio and text annotations throughout the entire training session. This can be reviewed with the trainee to provide instant performance-based feedback.
Simulator & real-world
Robust, accurate and versatile, TOPAZ is set up in less than 3 minutes and is easily adapted to many complex daytime or nighttime environments, including simulator and real-world situations. Radio transmission and touch screen options are available, and the system is equally with other biosensors, such as ECG, EEG, and GSR.
Review & analysis
Via the integrated TOPAZ Player, video clips can be reviewed with recording notes, which can be edited or added with comments and score values.
